Picnik is the fastest online application that allows users to edit photos, being also interesting, easy and fun to use, and well performing. The website has been integrated to Google, which raises the question on whether this move is a good one or not in this area of IT services and makes some think of it as an attack directed towards Yahoo.
Picnik is very efficient for those who want to edit, publish or print images by using a simple browser and the connection to the internet. A great advantage of this online platform is the fact that it works properly for any operating system, as it runs in Flash. The website’s services are similar to those provided by Picasa Web Album or Photobucket, allowing users to edit their images by using their profiles, and without having to download them.
For the moment, Google didn’t announce major changes, but they will surely make some modifications and will bring new implementations to the current features of Picnik. The IT Company’s representatives stated that they want to continue the collaboration with the current partners and the users will be able to use the services as 3rd party application from now on as well.
In time, Picnik became a more and more complex web application in Flash and was even able to include a paid plan for the users that wanted more. Starting with the 1st of March 2010, Picnik’s trajectory changes and some people think that Flickr (Yahoo) might stop using Picnik in the future after this acquisition.
